SHEETMETAL FABRICATOR WELDER

2 x JOBS - North Shore & West Auckland

A North Shore based company in Auckland who specialise in custom sheetmetal stainless steel fabrication in both the industrial and commercial sectors, are looking for an experienced Sheetmetal Fabricator Welder. Their one-stop shop metal fabrication workshop manufactures and repairs a wide range of individualised products from a range of metals.
There is also a second JOB in West Auckland with very similar requirements for a Sheetmetal Welder Fabricator.

You must be fully conversant with all aspects of sheetmetal fabrication as you’ll be responsible for the fabrication, assembly and fitting of components and need to be able to read and review engineering requirements, liaise and advise design engineers on fabrication details to ensure work is carried out efficiently and methodically. A very high-quality finish is expected so that it is ready to go out their long-term customers. They are looking for a STAR (Star, Trustworthy, Accountable, Resilient)

Key skills required:

At least 5 years’ experience in the Sheetmetal Industry
Welding tickets an advantage
Fully competent in all types of quality customised metal fabrication
Excellent sheetmetal pattern making skills
Sheetmetal, Stainless & Aluminium experience
Proven hands on MIG and TIG welding skills are essential
Braising / Gas Welding / Soldering skills would be advantageous
Both Workshop and Site work
Be able to interpret / read / understand CAD drawings, plans and customer sketches.
Good communication skills essential, as customers only have a vague idea of what they require
Be able to form solid, workable concept drawings from their ideas in order to for their project to be fabricate to their specifications
Able to think outside the square with a good imagination and initiative
Any previous Supervisor / Management experienced added bonus
If you have a background in the marine industry, this would be very beneficial
Some projects might require you to travel

Wage: $25-$31/hr neg with qualifications, skills & experience
