Hi there NZ, me (20) and my partner (21) are both on the hunt for fulltime mahi preferably in the Bay of plenty area. Accommodation is also preferred, but must be alright with our 2 fur babies, they are both good around stock as they grew up on a homestead farm. We have our own vehicle and can also start ASAP
My partner has 3+ years experience as a farm assistant and has done 6 months as a calf rearer. He knows everything to do with being a farm assistant plus more from fencing, stock work, shed setup and vat washes etc. He is very handy when it comes to bike maintenance. He also has his milk quality and his chainsaw certificate under his belt.
As for myself I have done 3 seasons as a calf rearer and 10 months as a farm casual and relief milker. I know the basics to calf rearing to feeding the right amount of milk suitable to its ages, feeding the right amount of gold colostrum to newborns, feeding meal and hay with fresh drinking water daily, moving them into new paddocks and making sure they reach their target weight.
We are both hardworking, quick learners, reliable; we both can ride 2 and 4 wheelers, have worked in both a Rotary and a Herringbone style shed. We are both willing to learn and expand our farming career into something more.
