Human Connections Group has partnered exclusively with Burns Group 2018 Limited for the appointment of an Accounts and Payroll professional at their headquarters based in Mosgiel.

The Organisation

Burns Group is currently a small operation in an exciting period of rapid expansion and will without doubt be a significant employer in the Otago region over the next 12 – 24 months.

The Role

In this challenging and rewarding role you will be working closely with the Group Financial Controller and will be responsible for the organisation’s accounts payable and receivable function along with controlling the groups payroll function.

Alongside your daily tasks you will be required to produce end of period accounting reports and payroll summaries to the Executive Team and Businesses within the group. Due to the nature of information that you will deal with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism will be required.

We are looking for a superstar who can provide an excellent client focused service and has experience with word processing, data entry and establishing and maintaining computer record systems as well as undertaking general administrative tasks for the group.

The Person

To be successful in this role, you will have highly developed analytical skills and a natural ability to identify the best solution for clients. We are looking for someone with the following:

Relevant tertiary qualification in general accounting, finance and payroll.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in basic accounting and payroll.
Strong Excel skills and knowledge.
Excellent knowledge of financial operating systems and procedures.
Excellent analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills.
A strong knowledge of New Zealand Law and Holidays Act, New Zealand Tax Requirements, Kiwisaver and other relevant legislation
An energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive approach.
A high level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness with the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
Proactive with a strong work ethic and solid client service capability.
Strong leadership skills and an interpersonal style that fosters positive relationships with all levels of staff, clients and other stakeholders.
Experienced in the preparation of GST returns.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
