Intermediate Level Accountant required for market leading Chartered Accounting Firm - Tauranga

Base Salary 70 - 85 k plus performance incentives

Human Resource Group is pleased to have teamed up with our clients mid-sized privately owned Chartered Accounting Practice in the Tauranga CBD to recruit their next important team Accountant. The position offers hands on experience across a broad range of industry sectors. It will give you a positive step towards fast-tracking your accounting career by working alongside a highly experienced team. Our client will consider applicants with 2 plus years public practice industry experience..

What will you be doing?

Preparing financial statements and managing taxation obligations for our wide range of clients.
Actively engaging with some of their larger clients to assist in their monthly accounting functions. This can include and is not limited cashflow forecasting, P & L Analysis, paying creditors and preparing payrolls.
Dealing directly with the leadership of the firm to deliver value added advice to their clients.
Assisting clients with IT system training and implementation Flexibility may be negotiated to work from home for suitably experienced candidates. 30 - 40 hours per week considered

The ideal candidate will have:

Tertiary study towards a recognised New Zealand accounting qualification preferred
Experience using Xero or MYOB AO software with along with a solid foundation in bookkeeping & New Zealand tax law.
Sound experience completing Annual Financial Statements and Tax Returns for a variety of Client Entities
Strong attention to detail, dedication to deadlines and the ability to pick things up quickly.
Ability to think outside the square and solve problems with ease.
Excellent communication skills. Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential.
Ability to work in a small team environment. They are a close-knit team so it's important you can slot into it.
