CURIOSCAPE - CURIO BAY HOSPITALITY MANAGER

Tumu Toka Curioscape combines an 80-seat café, campground reception, camping ground, souvenir shop, and the interactive Gateway interpretation area, where we tell the stories of our wildlife, the importance of the Maori Connection, and the natural history of Curio Bay/Tumu Toka.
Located at Curio Bay, this popular Catlins area is one hour from Invercargill – This is a very special place, home to Yellow Eyed Penguins, Hectors Dolphins, and an internationally significant Petrified Forest and Living Forest.
We are looking for a Hospitality Manager to run Curioscape and work alongside the Trust, and be an important part of the management team to continue the growth of our café, camping ground and interpretation operations. We want someone who truly wants to develop and grow not only their career, but also the business and our fantastic team!!
You will be in charge of a dedicated Front of House team, and Camping ground staff. You will get to engage with our vibrant community and visitors to our region.
The right candidate will display strong leadership, have great communication, an unrivalled passion for Hospitality, enjoy autonomy and have a focus on growth and development. You will lead the front of house operations during busy service periods, as well as working alongside your team and motivating them to deliver results. Your role will also support your team – organising from behind - with rostering, costings, team development, training, coaching, and mentoring.
Your energy, drive and positive attitude will be contagious to all you work with and you will thrive on contributing to the bigger picture through your natural affinity for leadership. You will also have a desire and understanding key business metrics, with a desire to grow your business financial understanding. Last, but certainly not least, you should be a great person to work with, who is reliable, level-headed and able to ensure continuous improvement through your ability to think outside the box.

Skills and Experience:

Team Leadership/Management experience essential
Bar and Restaurant Hospitality experience preferred.
High levels of Service and Hospitality expectations
Experience with business metrics and working with systems preferred.
LCQ/Bar Managers Certificate preferred
Team player and supportive of a culture of team work with ability to inspire a team
Some one with drive and vision and easily adaptable
Quality focused to produce and execute a high-quality product
