We are seeking a passionate Atelierista/Artist who shows a commitment to inspiring, guiding, and researching alongside young tamariki by interpreting their intelligence and capabilities as they explore their ideas using a variety of artistic languages and materials. The successful person will bring a unique artistic expertise to our learning community by expanding and deepening the ideas of young children with multiple languages including light and shadow, colour, paint, clay, nature, wire and weaving, music. The Atelierista will have the ability to document and be involved in the process of making the children’s learning visible to our wider Rabbit Patch community. There is also an expectation that our beautiful Atelier spaces will be maintained to a high standard; a beautiful, purposeful, authentic and aesthetically pleasing space that models and reflects the principles of the Reggio Emilia Approach and is also used as a place of research, enquiry and that supports creative invention and refinement of children’s long-term projects.
You will have a creative background, preferably a fine arts degree, and have experience working with children in the early years and have some understanding of the Reggio Approach. Training and support will be provided. Salary to be agreed, depending upon experience.
