Little Citizens Early Learning Centre are looking for a Centre Cook to join our team Monday to Friday for approximately 30 hours per week to provide fresh, nutritious, and delicious meals every day.
Little Citizens Early Learning Centre is conveniently located on Oxford Street, South Dunedin. We offer programmes for children from 0-5 years of age and we are licensed for 60 children.
The team at Little Citizens Early Learning Centre celebrates the diversity of the many cultures that make up our centre families and we need a confident communicator who can relate to the various cultures of our centre. This role will involve you planning for and cooking an appetising menu for the children each day including morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. You’ll need to be organised, energetic and have an excellent knowledge of foods that promote good nutrition and healthy eating.
Ideally you will have:
- Indepth knowledge of health and food safety
- A passion for cooking and baking
- An understanding of allergies and special diets
- Confident with communication skills
- Good time management
- The ability to remain within the budgets of ordering food
- A passion for promoting healthy eating in children
Previous experience cooking for large groups is advantageous and a food handling or safety certificate is preferred. If you would love to join a team of passionate teachers please apply online today.
