Programme Leader

Permanent minimum 30 hours per week term time (More hours available in school holidays if desired) We are looking for an experienced, motivated leader with a love of children to manage our small team of staff providing care before and after school and in school holidays. At BOSCO we have a passion for leading fun and engaging activities for our Tamariki aged 5-13 years while maintaining a safe and suitable environment outside of school hours.

Skills and qualities required:
▪ Have experience and/or training working with children (Essential)
▪ Background of managing accounts or willingness to learn
▪ Excellent communication skills and an approachable, positive manner that
ensure that all people are always treated in a positive professional manner
▪ Display a commitment to the purpose and aims of the service provided by the
organisation and to the general principles, approach, and philosophy of the
service
▪ Good administration skills
▪ Exceptional people skills and the ability to relate to people ‘from all walks of
life’
▪ Effective time management skills
▪ The ability to be flexible

Key Responsibilities
▪ The provision and planning for the Before School, After School and Holiday
Programmes
▪ To offer an inclusive programme where all children feel valued and safe
▪ Provide a safe environment for children to attend
▪ Provide team leadership and support
▪ Build and maintain a partnership with parents / caregivers to ensure the care
and development of all children
▪ Maintain a positive relationship with Beckenham Te Kura o Pūroto
(programme is delivered on Kura site)
▪ Provide administrative and financial support
▪ To manage staff administration
▪ Regular liaison with the governing Committee
▪ Assist with all aspects of maintaining a not-for-profit status
▪ To manage the day-to-day financials of the programme to ensure the efficient
operations of BOSCO (alongside Treasurer)
