Us:
We are a small urban primary school (±100 students) seeking a motivated, compassionate Teacher Aide to join our close-knit team.
The Role:
Working 15-20 hours a week in the Junior School to support our kaiako in delivering individualised programmes to our beautiful tamariki. You will be assisting students with high health needs in the classroom and at times this could also include toileting, feeding and physiotherapy routines. The role may be well suited to someone with home-help or carer experience.
You:
You are a motivated, thinking person who is excited by challenges and loves a team-oriented workplace. You bring your upbeat, can-do attitude to work every day. You bond easily with tamariki from all different backgrounds and are happy when making a difference in the lives of akongā with high health/hauora needs.
Essential:
Experience in the workforce
A growth mindset; avoid operating from deficit thinking
Strong understanding of Māori and Pasifika cultures
High expectations of our very capable tamariki
Excellent interpersonal skills, including a friendly, happy demeanour
Willingness to engage with whānau
A flexible approach to work — every day is different
Helpful:
A good sense of humour
Some te reo (or a willingness to learn and apply)
