Gubb Design is currently a team of twelve people in our architectural design practice. We are a design-focused and service-oriented architectural practice in West Auckland, providing architectural services and delivering unique projects throughout New Zealand.

Gubb Design specialises in all facets of residential homes, including new builds, and sub-division developments where we design additions, alterations, remediation and terraced housing. Our projects are as diverse as our clients.

Due to loyal and established relationships with our clients, we have some exciting projects and are looking for the right people to be part of the team.
You will be working with an established team of designers and technicians with a friendly and welcoming studio culture.

Role Description
You will be an enthusiastic self-starter and have a passion for design and be able to work unsupervised. The ideal candidate will have early involvement with the as-built and concept design, but will predominantly work on technical drawings, which will be interspersed with site visits and client interaction as well.
Effective communication skills are essential as this role will require you to communicate with your team members and external consultants. Effective time management and determination to meet deadlines is a must.

You need to have:

In depth knowledge of the NZ Building Code and NZS Standards.
Understanding of industry best practice and have a sound knowledge of residential and commercial buildings.
Knowledge and ability to operate ArchiCAD proficiently (currently using 23).
Knowledge of WorkflowMax would be advantageous.
Ability to liaise with clients, builders, engineers, surveyors, district building officers and planners.
Ability to communicate well with your team members.
Excellent time management skills.
Fluency in spoken and written English with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Also NZ residency or work permit and be living in Auckland.
Be passionate and confident about design and accuracy in drafting.
Preference will be given to applicants with a minimum of 5 years' experience in this field.

Remuneration will be based on experience.
