The ideal candidate would have a process engineering background with a broad understanding of chemical/metal engineering. They will be able to manage a small team involved in the production process. Be familiar with direct reporting and be able to make commercial decisions, monetary and product pricing calculations.
This role requires drive, an ability to think on your feet and has the scope to also be involved in project work between operational periods.
This is a hands-on management position, in a nimble, growth orientated family business. Its efficiency and product quality, supported by its own IANZ-registered laboratory, ensures continuing international demand.
Essentially, we would like someone who:
Has hands-on production management experience
Has metallurgical or chemical manufacturing background
Is practical and mechanically minded
Takes responsibility for their area
Is motivated to make a difference
Is focused on Operational Effectiveness
Is very accurate and therefore confident in their own numbers
Thinks on their feet and gets it right
Is an effective manager of people
Performs under time, budget, and operational pressures
Is a fast learner
On job training will be provided.
