We are looking for a Senior Fabrication Engineer who will:
Work with a small factory team building portable sawmills for export
Undertake fabrication, fitting, and assembly as required to meet schedules
Make improvements to fabrication methods, coach & upskill staff
Improve processes and systems for efficiency and faster production
Undertake quality control, product testing and final adjustments
Provide R&D support and recommendations to the company designer
Liaise with admin staff to improve support documentation and training aids
Provide technical support to our sawmill operators via phone/email etc
Experience and Skills required:
Qualified Mechanical Engineer with 5yrs+ industry experience
Experience in processes and manufacturing of quality products
Wiring and/or electronic assembly experience an advantage
Extremely accurate with measurements, have high quality workmanship
Creativity & interest in machinery/forestry/timber, able to think outside the square
An analytical problem solver, eye for detail, curious mind, committed to improvement
Great team attitude, knows how to encourage others, sets a great example
Has good logic, is a keen listener, can communicate technical details clearly
Knowledge of and commitment to workplace Health & Safety requirements
Reliable, can be counted on as a valued part of our small but committed team
Remuneration vicinity $55-70k+ pa with room for results-based increases.
You must hold an existing work visa and be in Rotorua, NZ (or have existing travel dates)
