Te Whanau Tokotokorangi Trust is a Kaupapa maori service offering a range of services for people with an intellectual disability. We currently have vacancies for people who want to work with people who have intellectual disabilities. You must be a good listener, have patience, be a good communicator and genuinely want to care for people. You must be able to encourage people to reach their life goals and dreams.
We offer NZQA Level 3-4 training courses, Tikanga Maori courses, and specialised training in specific areas. All necessary training will be provided.
The following vacancies in our residential homes are for the following hours:
Position 1
Caregiving: Thursday – Sunday 3.00pm – 11.00pm = 32 hours
Sleepover: Friday – Sunday 11.00pm – 7.00am = 24 hours
Position 2
Caregiving: Thursday – Sunday 3.00pm-11.00pm = 32 hours
Sleepover: Friday – Sunday 11.00pm-7.00am = 24 hours
We also have part time hours for people who have the following skills for our day services. Our day service teaches and encourages people with disabilities life skills. The hours are between 9.00am – 3.00pm and operates during school terms. The positions we are looking for must be able to teach the following:
Gardening: 3-6 hours a week
Carpentry: 3-6 hours a week
Sewing: 3-6 hours a week
Music: 3-6 hours a week
Fitness/Massage: 5-10 hours a week – (maybe more)
