Equitas is a Brain Injury Rehabilitation service (three homes) based in Avonhead, Christchurch, we provide support for adults with Traumatic Brain injury.

We require a Rehabilitation Support Leader to assist the General Manager and the Registered Nurse to manage the homes and to lead the Equitas team to provide a high standard of support to people in accordance with the organisation’s vision and values.

This role is permanent full time, working Monday – Friday, some flexibility is possible, plus alternate weeks on call.
We are looking for someone passionate, kind and understanding who is dedicated to provide a very high standard of person-centred support and who is willing to help others as required.

Key Responsibilities:
•To promote positive relationships with the people we support and staff and to ensure excellent communication.
•To oversee the quality of support we provide to people living in Equitas homes.
•To facilitate the development of person-centred plans.
•To Monitor and evaluate people’s needs.
•To build rapport and liaise with families and stakeholders including ACC.
•To liase the multi-disciplinary team, other health professionals.
•To keep records current and updated.
•To manage Equitas systems and processes to ensure Audit standards are always maintained including Health and Safety.
•To provide Leadership to the team of Rehabilitation Support Workers.
•To oversee staff training and performance.
•To manage the Rosters.

Essential Qualities, Qualifications & Experience
•A Health Professional background
•Leadership experience.
•Knowledge and experience in the disability sector.
•Commitment to the provision of high-quality support.
•Effective problem-solving skills.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Excellent interpersonal skills that include the ability to develop, mentor and coach staff.
•Adaptable, pragmatic and flexible in approach.
•Competent level of computer skills with Microsoft suite of applications
•Current and valid Work Visa, if applicable.
•Full Drivers Licence – able to drive both manual and automatic vehicles.
•Completion of a clean criminal conviction’s pre-employment screening.

Preferred Qualities, Qualifications & Experience
•Health qualification e.g. Nursing, Physiotherapy etc.
•Experience working with people with traumatic brain injury or disabilities.
•Current CPR and First Aid Certificate.
