School Counsellor / Social Worker/ Permanent Full Time Position
DOVE Hawke’s Bay is a strong and committed team, and a leading social service organisation specialising in strengthening whanau and individuals to live safely, building respectful relationships, and helping prevent family violence.
We are looking for a dynamic and passionate person who can build strong relationships, relate well with youth and work alongside a multi-disciplinary team within a school environment.
This role requires registration, with preference given to a teacher with a counselling qualification or social worker.
Required of you:
A passion for working with youth at risk, strong advocacy skills, an understanding of Strength Based/Solution Focused practice, strong collaboration with families/whanau and school staff, work in a manner that is culturally appropriate and consistent with Te Tiriti O Waitangi, Pasifika and other cultures, persistence to mentor Young People through change and challenges, a good understanding around youth development, strong IT skills, and an ability to work independently and be a part of a team.
