Evolve is a Youth One Stop Shop (YOSS) delivering integrated primary health care and social support services to young people age 10-24 years old in the Wellington region.

Established in 2004 for young people by young people, we work within a youth development framework that emphasises the importance of young people’s connections to their communities, families, schools and peers, and has a focus on fostering resilience and supporting young people to make positive decisions. Youth voice and participation is incorporated in service development and governance ensuring that young people are at the centre.

Evolve’s dedicated team of doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, counsellors, social workers, youth workers and admin staff support over 4,000 young people in the Wellington area. Evolve are committed to providing services that are Connected, Courageous and Equitable. All services we provide are FREE of charge to our young people.

Evolve is one of the 11 national Youth One Stop Shops providing health care and social support to young people aged 10-24 years.

Main purpose of the job:
The Receptionist is the first point of contact for young people and visitors at Evolve. They provide front line reception services and play a key role in coordinating services, prioritising workflows, managing patient expectations, communicating with staff and coordinating a youth friendly environment.

The ideal candidate will be:

● Experience in general administration & office systems
● Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
● Excellent oral and written communication skills
● Able to maintain strict confidentiality
● Youth friendly and able to relate well to young people
● Open-minded and completely non-judgmental
● Works well in a busy environment and under pressure
● Excellent time management skills
● Ability to work well independently and within a team
● Commitment to working within the Treaty of Waitangi
● Some experience in the use of MedTech32 (or similar PMS)
● Experience working within Primary Health Care and/or Youth Development services
