Satplus Ltd is working on broadband networks and are determined to provide high-end quality ICT solutions and networks services. Every property is unique, so this role is for an experienced technician in fiber telecommunications and computer systems networking, who is capable to understand, install, configure, troubleshoot and provide quality solutions related to telecommunication and IT networks by implementing the ABC installation process.

Successful candidates will be responsible for planning, developing, designing and installing fiber /ONT/Wi- Fi / Ethernet and relevant IT & Telecommunication equipment connections to telephone exchanges, homes ,buildings, offices and domestic premises.

Key Responsibilities

Planning, devolving , designing and support network infrastructure and regulations and recommendations in provisioning of telecommunications systems.
Ability to read telecommunications network framing diagrams, plans and terminologies
Modem/ Router /ONT / Wi- Fi /Computer systems & network installation ,configuration, security and troubleshooting.
Repairing and replacing computer systems devices , peripherals and other equipment.
Installation , Programming and Configuration of SLID and ATA on the Optical Network Terminal(ONT) and Fiber terminal terminal Point (FTP).
Use of Tech Mate software to test Optical Network Terminal (ONT) status like optical power level, Optical Network Terminal (ONT) to Residential Gateway (RGW) connectivity.
Installing software ,operating systems , drivers or related program in computer systems.
Fault finding ,troubleshooting and resolving software and hardware related issues.
Ensure compatibility of all devices and configure networks resources accordingly.
Call logs and required documentation.
Maintain quality standard and network performance monitor and review.
Following procedures and guidelines as per industry standards.
Providing technical information ,advice ,support ,and communications with customers.
Use of highly specialized technical test equipment to find faults and troubleshoot issues.
Installing CAT5 , CAT6 networking and connecting to the modem, Router to provide residential customers access to Ultra fast Fiber broadband internet.
Splicing at the Fiber Access Terminal (FAT) and other fiber termination points and is able to work in cabinet and exchange.
Design ,Install ,program and configure Fiber on residential and commercial property.
Perform site surveys, assesses and documenting current site network configuration and user requirements.
Making and managing wireless networks (WIFI) and LAN networks.
Update software and hardware requirements for successful installations .
Strong commitment to Quality , Health & Safety.

Skills Required :

NZQA qualification in telecommunication/Information technology/Networking or equivalent and similar experience in industry.
Practical knowledge and experience will be preferred.
STMS.
WTC1 & WTC3 certificate.
PTN,Risk Managements courses and have obtained required competencies for NGA B/C lead technician role will be preferred.
Good communication and problem- solving skills.
Physically fit and enthusiastic about learning new technical skills.
Ability to work as a team member and independently.
Willing to relocate within NZ when the need arises to satisfy business requirements.
