We are a steadily growing construction company mainly focused in Christchurch. Marcos Construction Ltd is constantly growing and will have opportunities for talents who want to grow alongside the company.

We are delivering commercial projects, renovation, industrial, and one of our main contracts is statehouses (Kainga Ora/Housing New Zealand), approaching significant results for further years.

We are looking for 2 professional Carpenters with at least one year of relevant experience and/or qualifications who enjoy carpentering projects and are a fitness person.

2 Positions Available

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a minimum of one year of experience in the carpentry /building industry.
Able to handle a variety of hand and powered tools.
Cutting materials, assembling and nailing cut and shaped parts.
Nailing fascia panels, sheathing roofs, and fitting exterior wall cladding and doors and windows frames.
Able to deal with timber, hardglaze, hardiplank, PVC, etc.
Has different methods of measurement.
Finish work in high quality.
You will be expected to have your own professional tools (basic tool kit)
Experience with a variety of materials and tools (sander machines, water blaster, spray machines).
References from previous employers should be provided.
Must have a Site Safe Card.
Drive Licence would be an advantage.
Must be able to go from site to site on your own.
Must have a clean slate criminal record (this is a requirement of our main client).
Must pass the drug and alcohol test. (This is a requirement of our main client).

SKILLS:

Knowledge and experience of reading and interpreting scope’s projects
Knowledge and experience of calculating material requested for a project
Awareness of the amount of materials and the time frame the project requests.
High levels of Health and Safety
Experience as a supervision/team leader
Ability to work independently and unsupervised
Able to work in a team and ability to work under pressure
Reliable and motivated
Able and patient with difficult customers as the training will be provided.
