We are Independent Stevedoring Limited (ISL), a highly successful stevedoring company operating in Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, and Marsden Point (Whangarei). We are an industry leader known for providing excellent service, innovative solutions and being outstanding place to work.
We put people over profit and are small enough to know our team members personally. ISL’s ownership structure allows us to act decisively in doing what is best for our people and our customers.
Our stevedores get market-leading remuneration AND genuine work/life balance:
Rostered days off (“red days”) – plan ahead and a have life
4 days on, 2 or 3 days off (or similar)
Work no more than 6 days in a row
5 weeks annual leave
Senior stevedores earn over $36.00 p/h plus night shift allowance
Further pay increases scheduled
40 hours a week pay guaranteed

At Whangarei and Mount Maunganui, we focus on bulk cargo, general cargo, and logs. At Sulphur Point, we focus on container vessels.
In addition to traditional stevedoring, ISL provides professional Straddle Drivers to the Port of Tauranga.
