Looking for 2x Tractor Drivers to work in New Zealand
Due to a busy season ahead Willesden Farms requires 2 Tractor Drivers to join the team from early September until end of April.
Willesden Farms covers 6,400ha and is an outstanding balance of steep hill, developed downs and a large area of intensive pivot irrigated arable land. Primarily running commercial Romney ewes, Angus cows, dairy cows and replacement and prime stock.
Barley and maize are grown for silage, forage crops of kale, fodder beet and rape for feeding to stock directly and permanent grass pasture is established.
Busy periods on tractor will be from September through to December, then march and April. With the option to stay on farm to do earth work, stock and maintenance jobs through the summer period (January/February) or possibly move on to a local contractor we work in with.
Key tasks will be:
• Preparation and establishment of summer and winter brassica crops, permanent pastures and silage crops.
• Development & earthmoving projects.
• Working with the wider team at stock tasks on occasion.
• Farm maintenance jobs, including; weed control, fencing, machinery maintenance etc.
A top fleet of vehicles and equipment, including:
1. John Deere 8310R & 6195M tractors (2 with gps 1 without)
2. 6m Horizon Drill
3. 4.5m speed disc
4. 3.5m offset discs
5. 24m Amazone sprayer
6. Kobelco digger
Situated only 30 mins outside of Christchurch with great fully furnished accommodation on farm with broadband Wi-Fi included.
