We are small business looking for a urgent class 5 Metro driver to join our team contracted to FMCG(foodstuffs). The driver will provide assistance to work colleagues and the team in the effective, timely and safe handling of goods.
You will be a team player and will not hesitate to assist other members of the team with their day-to-day tasks. Additionally, you will possess a customer focus, a passion for challenges and reliability.
You will be collecting bulk pickups from our customer sites and dropping to main hub in palmerston north region as well as to supermarkets.
You will be a highly experienced Class 5 driver with the ability to fully operate and reverse Truck & Trailer.
Duties & Responsibilities
Load and unload freight safely
Ensure freight is handled with no damage
Participate in all safety procedures
Operate all vehicles in a safe manner
Maintain, clean and tidy vehicles
Skills & Experience
Customer-focussed attitude
Communication and teamwork skills
High standard of personal presentation
Full Nz Class 5 licence with 2 years experience
Good knowledge of the Palmerston North region
Candidates will have atleast 2 years of experience driving class 5 and should be experinced on forklift as some of the sites requires drivers to load/unload.
You will be driving brand new European truck.
Current dangerous goods OSH and F endorsement would be desirable with preference given to applicants holding current certificates
You must be willing to undergo a pre-employment drug screen and a ministry of justice background check.
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa .
