We are a small lighting manufacturing company seeking a full-time person to work in, and supervise our store and workshop. The successful applicant will oversee all operations in our workshop and store, provide customer service to our distributors and schedule assembly work to our lighting assemblers. As well as scheduling and instructing store and workshop staff you will also assist the workshop and store persons by picking and packing goods to distribute within NZ and internationally as well as assist with the assembly of LED strip lighting products.

The main duties will include:

Supervising all operations in our workshop & store which employs 3-4 lighting assemblers and store people.
Receiving orders from distributors and processing orders.
Providing excellent customer service to our distributors.
Liaising with suppliers, distributors and freight companies.
Assisting with invoicing distributor orders.
Receiving inward goods.
Operating our forklift.
Quality control of inwards and outwards goods.
Assisting with packaging and dispatching outward goods.
Assisting with inventory management.
Assisting with making up packs/kits of components.
Assisting with cutting of aluminium and plastic extrusions.
Assisting with soldering of LED strips.
Assisting with general assembly of LED lighting products.
Keeping warehouse clean and tidy.

Personal Attributes:

Thorough attention to detail with a desire to provide the best possible product.
Experience in a manufacturing environment and experience with the use of light equipment such as mitre saws, power drills etc.
Experience with manufacturing systems (BOMs, accounting software).
Practical thinker.
Self-motivated.
Great communication and problem-solving skills.
Reliable.
Excellent time management skills.
Physically fit and able – some heavy lifting will be required.
Current full NZ driver’s licence. Must be able to drive a manual vehicle.
Have a current OSH certificate & F endorsement.

This position is a full-time permanent role of 40 hours per week. Days of work are Monday through to Friday.

This role is based in our store/workshop in Petone, Lower Hutt.
