This exciting and ambitious programme will assist with restoring water health through the implementation of water quality improvement by facilitating landowners, community groups, iwi and hapū to undertake projects that contribute to sediment reduction in the Kaipara Moana.

For this role, among other things you will be:

Providing administrative support to enable the Kaipara Maurikura to manage and distribute grant funding to landowners, community groups, hapū and marae
Helping set up and manage the processes and systems of a significant grant funding programme
Supporting the Catchment Remediation Manager and team to deliver the annual grant funding outcomes
Working with the team for the mutual set-up phase and the establishment of processes and systems for the funding programme
Assisting with budget support and reporting

To be successful you are likely to have:

A relevant diploma-level tertiary qualification
Three or more years experience in administration, business systems, finance or logistics
Some experience working in local government and/or within an organisation with a funding programme
Excellent communication, interpersonal and team skills
High level of competence and confidence using relevant computer programmes
Ability to work well and productively with a wide range of people
A good understanding of business activities, including business planning, financials and systems

This role (based in Whangarei) sits within the newly established Kaipara Maurikura - the operations unit specifically set up to deliver the Kaipara Moana Remediation Programme outcomes. The Programme itself has the overall aim of returning the Mauri to the Moana by significantly reducing the amount of sediment going into the Moana.
