Calf rearer OR general hand required to help on farm team of 4 over the busy calving period. 750 cows due to start calving end of July!
Approx 25 July to mid October. Drive in position. Farm is 10 mins to Huntly and 10mins to Te Kauwhata.
Calf rearer: At least some experience is required as you will be responsible for teaching all new calves to drink (up to 30 per day), identifying sick animals, fully feeding all calves, managing the logistics in the calf shed and keeping the shed and feeding equipment clean and sanitised. You may also be required to tag and load bobbies and help out with feeding outside calves. Generally 5-6 hours per day split between am and pm feeds. Pay rate $/hr negotiable based on experience.
General hand: This person will be required to help out with milkings (56 bail rotary), getting cows in, hosing out, setting up break fences and feeding outside calves among other general duties. Hours and days can be negotiated to suit. Possibility of increased hours on days when other team members are off.
