**Farm assistant and milk harvester**
Due to unforseen circumstances, we have these positions available again.
These positions could be separate or would ideally be for a dynamic couple
We run an indoor 3000 goat dairy farm near Hamilton with a 100 bale rotary.
Looking for people who are hard working and passionate to join our team,
for our farm assistant we are currently running a fortnightly roster which is 3 on 2 off, 2 on 1 off, 4 on 2 off, meaning you will be working 9 days out of 14 including every second weekend off. This has been working great for our current team but we are negotiable with this and are happy to look at options that will work within our team .
We would like someone with a bit of dairy experience , possibly around 2 full seasons, don’t stress if it’s not with goats, some of our best crew members have come from cow farms ???? Someone who wants to be part of a great team, where open communication is welcomed, where you you can contribute and be part of decisions, a willingness to learn new things and have a passion for the industry. Empathy and a love for animals an absolute must.
We are a team who enjoys working hard but having a bit of a laugh and banter as well so this is also important to us. We have some amazing near new and new machinery so someone who has a bit of knowledge with these would be fantastic
We have a possible shared accommodation available on farm, if needed, with a large fenced section, heatpumps and fireplace.
The milk harvester position is also on rostered days, which is a different roster to the farm assistant but if this was a couple applying we can always look into this so you get some time off together , also ideally would have some experience in a milking shed, be able to detect mastitis and have a good eye for detail, this position is on an hourly rate.
We are negotiable on the salary for the farm assistant position as it is all dependent on experience
Must be able to pass a drug test!!
