Our Mossburn based 1000 cow dairy farm is seeking a new farm manager to join our team for the season starting 1st June 2021.
The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for cows, people and grass.
Confidence in these three areas will mean that you will have proven experience to manage the farm to its potential, with a focus on increasing production year on year (currently 470kgms/cow with room for improvement).
The day-to-day management and organisation of the team will be the responsibility of this role, this includes 2x capable herd managers and a full time machinery operator.
The farm is a system 4 pasture based operation with in-shed feeding all season round with the goal to fully feed cows 365 days a year. Proven experience in sole charge pasture management will be important for this role.
The cowshed is a 60 bale Waikato shed with full automation.
The farm is supported with a neighbouring run-off block where all cows are wintered.
Modern 3 bedroom family home with heat pump and double garage
Mossburn Primary school just down the road and Northern Southland College in Lumsden. Both schools have a bus pick up at the farm gate.
