The Opportunity:
Comvita Apiaries is one of the largest of its kind in NZ. Our Masterton Branch are looking for full time, permanent Beekeepers to join their team. Reporting to our Branch Manager, your day to day will involve:
-Manage the day-to-day operations of your team
-Accountable for the preparation and performance of allocated hives to deliver Apiary performance targets
-Lead your team of beekeeping staff; train and support the development of beekeepers under your supervision
-Oversee hive management to ensure all hives are in peak production
-Work in all aspects of the business including honey production, disease control to maximise the productivity of the operation, targeting high levels of Manuka
-Interact with landowners to ensure we retain Apiary sites

About you
You will be an experienced beekeeper, ideally with a commercial background, with a passion for Bees! You will also be:
-An excellent communicator who can work well with others
-Hold previous experiencing leading teams/managing people
-Physically fit with the ability to travel away from home during the peak of the season
-A supporter and promoter of safe working within the day-to-day operations of your team
-As an experienced beekeeper you'll be well aware the role will, at times, require some flexibility around hours.
