About us:
We are a very busy South-East Asian eatery, located in Rotorua CBD. Currently with a big vision for our next expansion to be the number one Asian Fusion in Rotorua, we are looking for an experienced Chef in Asian cuisine, who has a passion in food and work well in a team. The job will require working on weekend so please only apply if you are available to do so.

Job responsibilities:

Be familiar and able to prepare and cook all current items on our menu.
Be able to research and create new Asian fusion dishes for our new menu where possible.
Maintain hygiene, food handling, food preservation and health & safety procedures.
Ensure that sufficient stocks of all materials are being kept and stored under the correct conditions.
Being a part our kitchen crew to operate the work flow in the most effective way.
Provide special dietary requirements where necessary, and take into account the preferences of individual customers, while keeping the pace as fast and efficient as possible.
Supervise and train new kitchen staffs (cooks, kitchen assistants).
Report to Head Chef and Manager weekly about relevant kitchen issues occur during work.
Constantly update your knowledge and skills for the good of our establishment.

Ideal candidates will have:

At least 3 year of experience working in a commercial kitchen.
Proven knowledge for hygiene, safety and correct use of equipment and utensils.
Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Good time management and organisational skills, with the proven ability to plan, prepare and think ahead for a comprehensive menu.
Interest in Vietnamese cuisine or South East asian cuisine and preferably no dietary restriction (as you will need to know the taste the food that you are responsible for making)
