Requirements
The role requires an experienced Chef who is able to work in a fast-paced environment, especially during the busy breakfast and lunch periods.
Our Café is open during the daytime, a well as weekends, therefore we require someone who can work early mornings, weekends and on public holidays (as the hours of the café requires).
We prefer candidates who can demonstrate at least 3 years of previous relevant work experience. A relevant qualification in Cookery would also be beneficial.
Task and Duties
The employee’s tasks and duties include, but are not limited to the following:
*Oversee and manage the operation of the Kitchen
*Ensure all food is prepared, cooked and served to specifications
*Maintain stock at an optimum level, with weekly stock-take of all items.
*Order stock from suppliers as and when required
*Ensure consistency in the food served and all meals served within the agreed time
*Maintain a clean kitchen, including a regular cleaning roster for all kitchen areas.
*Training and supervision of junior kitchen staff.
*Understand and ensure compliance with all food hygiene, health, and safety best practices
*Liaise with the Café Manager to plan and update menus and specials for the café
*Maintain quality and cost controlling for the Kitchen
