We are looking for a Chef to be assigned in Gisborne.
Key Responsibilities:
*Prepare and cook food according to customers' orders
*Arrange food on plates
*Involved in the design, plan and price of menus
*Keep work areas clean and tidy, and adhere to health and safety standards
*Maintain food supplies and cooking equipment to good standard
*Carry out cleaning and dishwashing as needed
*Keep records of supplies for food safety compliance
*Ability to take on extra duties as required if the kitchen is short staffed or busy
Skills & Experience:
*Training in culinary arts
*Have a creative flair for food preparation, cooking and food presentation skills
*Knowledge of budgeting, stock management, and how to price and set up a menu
*Strong communication skills and a good team player
*Understanding of NZ standards for hygiene and food safety, health and safety regulations
*Knowledge of new developments in food nutrition, food technology and cooking methods.
Working conditions:
*Able to work quickly and accurately, with physical stamina
*A flexible schedule usually working long hours, including evenings and weekends, and may be on call, including working on public holidays
*Work in kitchen in conditions that can be hot, noisy and stressful because food must be prepared quickly and to high standards
*Occasional work at food festivals and events
*May do administrative tasks relative to the main tasks
*Successful Candidate will be assigned to GISBORNE.
