We are looking for an experienced chef or pastry chef who is keen to be part of our artisan ice cream business.
Utopia Ice is a true grassroots business. We started making ice cream with locally sourced products for the Christchurch Farmers market in 2014 and organically grew over the years to two popular ice cream shops (Sumner and High St) and a production kitchen in Sumner. We don't use powders, flavoring pastes or "convenient" premixes, we truly make ice cream (custard based and vegan) from scratch.

-are passionate about food and have excellent cooking skills with a willingness to learn more
-are someone with an amazing can do attitude and great communication skills
-can work well in a team and on your own and work well under pressure
-are reliable, flexible with working hours (no evening work) , positive, self motivated, energetic and hardworking
-have a minimum of 2 years work experience in a busy pastry section or restaurant
-pay attention to detail and uphold very high standards in quality and hygiene
-have a sense of humor (because that's always helpful in a busy kitchen environment)
