Mediterranean head chef/baker

Noosh is a newly established café and take-away, and a prime destination for fresh, authentic Mediterranean food in Dunedin, with oven baked pies and flat bread, hand-cut salad, authentic kababs and freshly prepared sauces, all served as unique meals.

We are currently after a new member to our team to full a position as the Mediterranean head chef/baker.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

70% head chef and managing the kitchen duties at the appropriate standards
30% baking
Undergoing training as required
Food preparation at the required standard
Cleaning and sanitation of the food preparation areas
Following all company policies and procedures

Minimum requirement to apply for this position:

Culinary qualification (minimum a certificate from an institution that can be recognized in New Zealand)
At least 3 years experience as a chef (including at least 1 year as head chef)
At least 2 years of experience working as a baker
Experience in Mediterranean and/or Middle Eastern cooking preferred
Able to read and speak basic English
Must have proven work history and good references
Must be able to provide appropriate documentation to prove NZ work eligibility
Has reliable transportation to and from the work location
