Seeking a motivated chef to join our fast paced café/restaurant on Marsden Marina. Potential for a great work life balance with beautiful Bream Bay at your doorstep.
The successful applicant will be working closely with the Head Chef to ensure the highest quality of food and service are met.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
• At least 4 years’ experience working in a fast paced kitchen
• Personal pride in presentation and professionalism
• Passion and drive to produce quality/consistent dishes
• Excellent personal grooming and hygiene
• Good English comprehension and communication
• Be honest, reliable and trustworthy
• A good understanding of food costs and control
• Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace
• Be well organised and creative
• Ability to manage all aspects of kitchen operations in absence of the head chef
• Availability to work weekends, days and evenings.
As a Sous Chef you will be working a mix of days, afternoons and evenings up to 40 hours a week on a weekly roster. You'll come with 3 years under your apron of managing daily kitchen activities, overseeing staff, menu preparation and ensuring food quality and freshness is spot on.
We need a passionate chef who loves being hands-on. You’ll understand the role of Sous chef is to lead your team from the front and to say thank you after a busy service.
Applicants must have New Zealand citizenship, residence or a valid work visa to work in New Zealand
