Davies Corner Discounter is a busy Dairy based in Hamilton. We are specialised in making our customers welcome and providing them with goods that meet their needs. In order to achieve this goal, we require a highly motivated individual to fulfil the position as a full-time Store Manager to oversee the operations of the store. You must be self-driven to succeed and be able to lead and motivate a team to keep the locally run business operating efficiently and effectively in the fast-paced community.

Your responsibilities as a Store Manager will include:
• Ensure the smooth running and operation of the Dairy on a day to day basis
• Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control and purchasing and maintain healthy relationships with suppliers
• Developing strategies and policies for purchasing
• Making key decisions on product mix, pricing and analysing sales figures
• Liaising and negotiating with suppliers
• Manage wastage and shrinkage to maximize profit
• Develop, execute, and manage specials, promotions and marketing for the store
• Carrying out visual merchandising of the store
• Maintaining appropriate records of stock levels and financial transactions
• Analysing expenditure, preparing monthly budgets and setting financial targets
• Daily cash reconciliation and performing all bank related tasks
• Identifying recruitment needs in the organisation and recruiting staff
• Prepare weekly roster and processing time sheets, managing staff hours and approving their leaves
• Delegating duties for staff
• Ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and ensure all incidents, possible hazards and injuries are reported, documented and attended to
• Attend all customer complaints

Ideally, you as the candidate will have:
• A relevant business qualification
• Retail experience of one year in a similar environment preferred
• Passion to mentor and motivate others
• Good leadership skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Good punctual skills to run the Dairy effectively every day

Please note: as this position is for full time hours, it will not suit anyone on a student visa. Applicant for this position should have New Zealand Residency or a valid work permit.
