We require an experienced hands-on retail assistant to start as soon as possible.
Previous experience in a pet shop is not essential though this would be highly regarded.
Key responsibilities
To assist Management to provide high-level customer service
Assist in daily retail operations.
Undertake retail operations including sales, stock control and displays.
Greet and attend to customers to Pet Stop
Ensure all telephone queries are answered in a prompt and friendly manner
Maintaining aquariums, birds, small animals enclosures.
Experience in:
a retail environment
the use of a point of sale or retail system
customer service skills
merchandise and stock control
computer operation especially with Windows-based PC programs
experience in animal keeping and well being
Knowledge of:
Livestock and Birds
Household Pets
Retail and customer service
Personal Requirements
flexibility and availability to work outside normal hours
ability to undertake physically demanding duties
Verbal skills
Motivation to serve
