Tilemax is a locally owned and operated tile importer and reseller based in the Wellington region. We have eight branded stores nationwide, two in the Wellington region, three in Auckland, One in Christchurch, Tauranga and Queenstown

We are looking for a retail assistant to fill a role which has just opened up in our Thorndon Branch. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be part of a small, busy, and extraordinarily successful sales team providing exceptional and inspirational design assistance. Key role responsibilities include:

Consulting with clients in our showroom creating individual tile design concepts.
Working closely with key account holders to build and foster growing relationships.
Assisting the team with design focused merchandising to create an inspirational showroom space for our customers
Engaging with trade customers and assisting the manager with branch trade events
Preparation and follow up of quotations, processing of customer orders and also stock orders


We are looking for:

With the role being very much sales driven, we are looking for a person with a passion for sales and driving for success. A background in proven retail sales is an advantage but not essential. Design and colour, and at least 12 months experience gained in a consultative retail or trade environment.

You will have an ability to develop immediate lasting relationships and have an outgoing personality. While previous industry or design experience would be an advantage, more important is a positive attitude and willingness to learn.


Skills and Experience:

Retail or consultative sales experience preferred
Experience in the construction or tile industry, design qualifications or experience working with colour or design,
Accuracy and great attention to detail
Computer literacy and quick uptake on systems
Great communication skills - written & verbal
Our service extends to loading customer vehicles, so you will need to be physically fit.
Must be adaptable, reliable and most importantly, have a can-do attitude!

Hours:
This role is full time. As the store is a 6 day business, rostered weekend work is a requirement of the role.

The position is salary based with a generous incentive programme.
