Our beloved House Truck is up for sale!
My partner Amy and I spent 3 awesome years living in here but have now decided to upsize to a house in town. Truck is in Hawea Flat, near Wanaka.
The price reflects the material costs alone, excluding the over 600 hours of work that went into building it. We built it when we moved to Wanaka to avoid paying the extortionate rent prices. It paid for itself in no time and we would now love for someone else to benefit from this. Would also make a mean guest house for someone with the $$ and the land.
It has a top of the line Solar set up hand built by Hi-tek Solar specific to our needs, composting toilet, woodburner, gas cooker/oven and gas instant water heater/ shower, 12v Fridge, Wifi/Internet Dish & Modem. All you need is a water hookup/hose pipe and you're good to go. Its super cozy in winter!
Heaps of storage, removable rear deck, double glazed windows, warm cork floor, fully insulated and built and finished with a dozen different timbers (cork, bamboo, cedar, larch, oak etc. Im a builder so spent time sourcing nice materials).
The Truck itself is a 1986 Ford Trader, 2nd owner, only 150k on the clock, truck is in great condition. Rego on hold, no COF. Starts and drives from A to B but it is a house rather than a truck or campervan. We built it to live in, not for touring, Hence no COF.
During lockdown the truck had a full re-vamp. All exterior cladding was stripped and re-oiled, new double glazed full length window fitted, new side door and stairs built.
This sale is based on the removal of the truck from its current location. Sadly I cannot offer the land it currently sits on.
