Family Portrait Photographer - No Photography Experience Necessary

Portraits by Jack’n’Jill are New Zealand's most trusted family portraits provider and have been taking photos of kiwi families for more than 25 years. We are now seeking a contract Photographer to join the business, covering the Waikato district and beyond.

This role requires someone with great people skills over and above photography skills as full training is provided.
You should be highly motivated, super organised and not afraid of hard work. You will have a friendly, outgoing personality and ideally be great with children.

Who We Are Looking For

Someone willing to travel within your catchment area, so a reliable car and full driving license are a must have. You may also be required to travel further afield. (travelling expenses covered by Jack’n’Jill) if you are booked outside your catchment area.

Very good personality and great people skills. This role demands the ability to get along with everyone and be professional at all times.

Although Jack'n'Jill head office organises all of your shoots you will still need to have a good level of self organisation and be punctual.

Someone who can handle a stressful high paced environment. Shoot days can be very busy and the ability to remain focused under pressure is vital.

Willing to work weekends (both days if needed) and some week days.

Someone willing to learn new skills (Studio Photography, Editing Software etc)

Someone flexible and willing to go the extra mile for the business. A team player who will help us grow the brand and promote who we are, potentially generating new business.

Availability to start training at the end of July

This is a dynamic, fast paced role so fitness is a requirement. Although photography experience or an interest in photography is an advantage, it is not a requirement for this role - we provide full training and all the professional studio equipment.

Application Requirements

No formal skills are required although a good level of english and maths are a must have along with some basic IT knowledge.

A photography interest and/or experience is an advantage, it is not a requirement for this role - we will train you!

Basic understanding of handling a DSLR camera

Experience working with people, especially children & families

A passion for photography or desire to work as a photographer

A full driving license (Not restricted) and a reliable vehicle is essential

Can do attitude and not afraid of hard work

Must currently live and be allowed to work in NZ on a permanent basis (no temporary work visas)
