Do you want to join a close-knit team at the intersection of te ao Māori, public policy analysis and legal work?
Woodward Law is looking for one solicitor, ideally 2-3 years PQE, and one junior solicitor.
Our small private practice serves a wide range of clients in Māori, environmental and public and administrative law. We are adding two positions to our team of five to respond to constant growth in each of these areas.
Woodward Law is leading the last major historic claim in the Waitangi Tribunal, commencing superior court litigation of Māori freshwater rights, and presenting Waitangi Tribunal claims including housing inequity, ACC, the role of Māori women in society, and the governance and quality of fresh water. We also work for our clients in a range of Māori land and governance issues.
We work for several large clients, alongside top barristers, on cases intended to change New Zealand’s laws.
The ideal candidate will be confident in cross-cultural communication and in working with Māori communities. The candidate will also be committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Graduate lawyers are welcome to apply for the junior solicitor position. We are committed to training and supporting new solicitors as a core focus of our practice.
