Excavator Operator Wanted

Treescape Auckland has a position for a highly-skilled operator who can run their own site and want the freedom and variety that comes with short term projects (3 days to 1 month). All machines are the latest model Komatsu’s with forestry safety guarding and multi-functional. These can run everything from felling heads to buckets and mulchers to grinders!

If you enjoy working with trees, new machinery, variety and owning your own site then this is a great opportunity. The role is ideal for those who have forestry experience but now live in the city or those who just want more variety than earthworks can offer.

If you have the skills and want experience on the largest, most iconic projects and removals in NZ then this is the position for you! Some travel is required on occasion so you will have the opportunity to see other parts of the country as part of your role.

We have an excellent team of experienced staff and the best access to mechanical support in the country and as a lead arborist, you will be a key part of this team and have the ability to earn great money and opportunities to progress your career.

Your skills and attributes:

Minimum 4 years experience on excavators
Qualified - level 3 forestry machinery units (ideally)
Be a team player with a safety-focused attitude
Good knowledge of excavators and attachments
Great communication and fluent English
Class 2 licence (ideally)
Be able to pass regular drug tests

The fine print:

To be eligible for this position you must currently be living in NZ and have a legal right to work in this country (i.e. NZ Citizenship, be a permanent resident, or hold full working rights)
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, overseas applications for this position will not be considered.
Candidates will be required to undergo drug and alcohol testing, a medical exam, and Ministry of Justice checks as part of the recruitment process (at Treescape’s cost).
Treescape fully supports efforts to get New Zealand vaccinated. As such all new hires are required to provide proof of vaccination.
