Genetic Technologies Limited (GTL) is a 100% family owned and managed agribusiness which represents Corteva (previously DuPont Pioneer) in New Zealand. We grow, distribute and sell maize and grass seed nationally and around the world. We also offer a comprehensive range of microbial inoculants, Lucerne and forage sorghum.
We are currently looking to recruit for an entry level Field Operator to join our Field Operations team based in Gisborne. In this role you will be supporting the Field Operations Manager and Production Agronomist with preparing for our Planting and Harvest activities. This is a crucial role, ensuring that these key activities are carried out seamlessly. This is an entry level position and full on the job training will be provided.
In this role you will be (but not limited to);
Working with the Field Operations team to manage contract growers
Conducting crop monitoring and crop checks
Work with the Field Operations Manager on Seed Field Mapping
Assist with planting, destasseling and harvest activities
Post season care and support of our machinery and field equipment
Assisting with Stocktake
What we are looking for:
Ideally at least a years’ experience in a previous similar role
Good levels of communication
The ability to work unsupervised
The ability to work flexible hours during peak production periods
Forklift Licence and Experience also preferred
An effective team player with attention to detail
The ability to contribute to and foster our Health and Safety Culture
