Looking to extend your machining skills? Do you need a new challenge? We are looking for machinists who would like to try their hand at machining our dynamic Engineering Plastic materials.
Engineering Plastics are important materials in modern machine design. Our components are widely used in industries such as aerospace, agriculture, medical and food manufacturing. They are available in a multitude of specifications based on composites, extruded and sintered materials to meet the demands of applications with temperatures ranging from cryogenic levels to 300°C continuous.
To machine plastics you will gain an understanding of material characteristics, suitable tooling and swarf removal. In many applications coolant is not required nor preferred. Plastic materials are approximately 20% of the weight of steel. So generally you can expect a cleaner working environment and less fatigue.
Machining Engineering Plastics requires a diverse range of machinery including conventional turning & milling as well as complex CNC machines. We currently have a vacancy in our Auckland machine shop for a manual machinist. We look forward to hearing from you.
