Job Title: Machinery Operator and Maintenance Hand
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Whitehall Fruitpackers is a progressive horticultural company based in the Waikato. While our main focus is on our 250+ canopy hectares of green and gold kiwifruit, (with a strong focus on organics) we are involved in most primary production including dairy farming, dry stock, apiaries and forestry.
We have an exciting opportunity to be a part of our orchard and maintenance team. The role requires someone who is versatile, with the ability to (or be taught to) mow, spray, mulch, and other general machinery operation when required and help with the maintenance of orchard structures, as well as a variety of other work and most importantly, a can-do attitude! While machinery operating experience is preferred, there is full training given if the right candidate with the right attitude comes forward. You will be working alongside a dedicated and knowledgeable team.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
• Being involved in the daily orchard and farm operation of mowing, mulching, spraying etc
• Being involved in the daily orchard and farm maintenance and development and maintenance of structures and buildings
• Helping and managing irrigation and frost protection when it is required with the different seasons
• Ability to adhere to and actively participating in the WFP Health and Safety Policies and site rules
• Ability to adhere to the WFP Health and Hygiene Rules and policies regarding all relevant Food Safety requirements.

• Ideally experience with operating heavy machinery, but not essential (training will be provided on the job)
• Be able to pass a preemployment drug test and random drug testing
• A valid New Zealand driver’s license, ideally with a class 2 or higher but not a must
