Timberlands is seeking an Operator to join our team at the Kaingaroa Processing Plant, a large log manufacturing plant situated off S.H 38 in the Kaingaroa Forest. The plant runs 24 hours, 7 days a week throughout most of the year utilising a lifestyle friendly 4 on 4 off shift roster. Transport is provided from Rotorua to the plant.
Key tasks include:
• Learning to efficiently operate each of the machine operating stations to maximise productivity
• Understanding and adhering to high standards in health, safety, value & quality
• Working and communicating effectively within a team
Preference will be given to applicants with the following:
• Proven reliability and a good work ethic
• Experience operating machinery in a processing environment
• Demonstrated good H&S knowledge & performance
• Some chainsaw experience (cutting wood under tension)
• Good hand/eye co-ordination
• Basic computer skills or experience operating computerised systems
• Ability to work 12 hour shifts alternating between day and night shift, on a 4 on 4 off roster
• A full drivers licence (desirable)
