ABOUT US:
Kiwi Lumber is a privately owned, growing and progressive sawmilling company marketing Radiata Pine to the USA, Australia, Europe, Asia and New Zealand markets. The group currently employees over 275 staff across four sites located in Masterton, Dannevirke, Putaruru and Gisborne.

Kiwi Lumber produce an extensive range of products that are specific to the needs of our domestic and international customers. By providing a consistent quality of resource along with the use of modern technology and systems, Kiwi Lumber is able to produce a diverse range of products to stringent quality and service standards.

THE ROLE:
This is an ideal position for a self-motivated individual looking to take a step into a leadership role. In this key position you will report directly to the Processing Manager and be part of the wider site management team.

There is the chance to make a difference to the day-to-day operations. This position can also offer a suitably motivated individual the opportunity to move into higher management roles within the team.

Core tasks include:

Assisting with overall leadership and management of the processing team.
Setting the standard and ensuring the Team adheres to Health & Safety procedures.
Adherence to Production Schedules.
Meeting and exceeding machine production targets
Quality Standards are maintained.
Seeking continuous improvement in all aspects of the operation.

Kiwi Lumber is a drug free site. Applicants will be drug tested.

The successful applicant would have the following qualities:

This position would ideally suit an experienced Timber Machinist who is looking to take the next step in their career. Solid wood processing experience preferred but not essential.
Strong Leadership traits.
Staff management skills.
Manufacturing operations management experience.

Ideally you will have two or more years’ experience in a similar role or are an experienced timber machinist looking to take the next step. Industry experience is advantageous but not necessary.
