We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Manager to join our team based in Kaiapoi.

Reporting through to the Christchurch Operations Manager, the Production Manager will be responsible for:

The management of multiple departments to deliver production on time
Ensuring safe work practices for people and the environment they work in
Allergen and quality control within departments
Leadership and guidance to production staff at multiple levels

We are looking for an experienced Production Manager, who is a strong leader to advocate GMP, drive continuous improvement, work closely within a team and collaboratively with other department across H&S, QA, planning, and finance, have prior and demonstrable experience in implementing systems and procedures within a HACCP environment.

Key Skills & Requirements

Demonstrated experience in a Supervisory and/or Management role within a food production environment
Experience and understanding of High-care / RTE environments along with primary meat processing of multiple species.
Experience training, coaching and mentoring to get the best out of your team
Strong focus on quality
Problem solving in a fast paced environment
Fully competent with using IT and various software programs
Attention to detail to ensure that product quality and compliance standards are met
Understanding of P&L's
A good understanding of LEAN principles

You will be highly organised, have great attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and be confiident.You will also need to have a strong understanding of Food Safety best practices and be familiar with running a plant to these standards. Experience, albeit not a requirement, in lean manufacturing will be well utilised. Strong leadership skills are paramount as you will be coaching, mentoring, and developing your team so to best achieve the clear expectations you've set in order to succeed.
