Red Stag Timber's Sawmill compares to no other, with its state of the art USNR machinery, the dual quad large band saw line cutting up to 15 logs per minute, averaging over 8,000 logs per day, a high speed curve saw breaks the timber down. Further downstream the timber is automatically trimmed and sorted at 140 pieces per minute, finally an auto-stacker packs timber in excess of 700 packets a day. The latest technology is used, sensors, lasers and cameras are scanning and measuring to ensure optimum decisions are made in milliseconds.

An opportunity has arisen for the right candidate that ticks all these boxes, start off with the basics, timber handling and chainsaw use but who has the potential to grow to be a key operational staff member. Hours of work are Monday to Thursday, starting at 6.00am until 4.40pm.

Preferred applicants will also have the following attributes:

Strong communication skills and physical health & fitness
A proven work ethic that demonstrates reliability, hard work and diligence
Previous experience in the timber industry and using a chainsaw would be favourable; however a 'safety first' attitude is essential to work with our team
A school qualification such as L2 NCEA and keen willingness to be trained in new skills
An innovative, passionate, hardworking and a physically fit individual
