Te Atawhai is a Whanganui-based independent Kaupapa Maori research institute for environment and health. We aspire to enhance the health and well-being of Maori by: growing Maori leadership across the research sector; building collaborations with indigenous and international researchers; and, making a difference in the evidence-base that supports whanau outcomes by producing excellent research.
About the role:
The purpose of this role is to support the successful performance of the organisation by providing professional management of the business face of Te Atawhai o Te Ao. We are a small team so your management will stretch across multiple areas. This includes Strategic Management, Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Health and Safety Management, overseeing Administration & Communications, Research Dissemination, and secretarial support for the Board.
About you:
Previous management experience is advantageous but training will be provided for the right applicant
Understanding of Kaupapa Maori, Te Ao Maori, and tikanga Maori
Organisation and planning skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including academic writing
Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
Ability to work well in a small team setting Although, qualifications and experience is advantageous, what is key is an ability to think macro, while working micro.
