We are a specialist geotechnical engineering consultancy that has grown from eight staff to almost thirty in the past twelve months due to the booming construction sector and increased demand nationally. Reporting to the sole Company Director/Owner, we are looking to recruit a General Manager that will help take our business to the next level. With further projected growth on the cards and offices in Christchurch and Auckland, plus Wellington planned for next year, expert business skills are needed to help formulate the necessary policies, procedures, and business systems to help us achieve our strategic objectives.

LandTech Consulting was formed in Christchurch six years ago, and has grown from a local professional service provider to one of the go to consultancies for property developers across the country. Our core focus is geotechnical investigations and reports in support of future building developments. We have also recently purchased specialist testing equipment to help support our investigations, that conventionally in the industry is outsourced to expert subcontractors. This growth and expansion is expected to continue over the next five years as we plan to become the provider of choice for geotechnical services across the country.

About the role
Working alongside the Company Director, the General Manager will be responsible to develop and implement HR, financial, marketing, IT and other operational systems for the entire company. In addition, the position will entail daily management of the Auckland office acting as the Branch Manager, while the Company Director focuses on expansion into the Wellington Region.

We are seeking a person who is a strategic thinker and can shape and drive strategies whilst fostering a harmonious culture. Key to the success of this role is to form a trusting and open relationship with the Company Director. Your interpersonal skills will need to be at the forefront of everything to build those relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Along with this you will be expected to have the following skills and attributes:

At least 5 years' experience in a management role
Applicable tertiary education and accounting/financial skills
A broad knowledge of business functions and strong leadership skills
Be able to effectively coach, mentor and support existing staff
Technically minded with a high level of computer literacy skills
Ability to innovative and develop strategic plans for the organisation
Have well above average spoken and written skills and connect with a diverse range of clients
