Ngati Ruanui Tahua Ltd is one of three subsidiary companies belonging to Te Runanga o Ngati Ruanui Trust. The main function of this company is the running of Ngati Ruanui Healthcare (including Patea Medical), Ngati Ruanui Kohanga Reo and Te Puawaitanga bilingual ECE.

The General Manager will lead and manage the strategic direction of Ngati Ruanui Tahua Limited as determined by the Board of Directors and Pou Tuara.

This includes:

Implementing strategic policy into

operational deliverables

Developing a workplace cultural that

develops self-directed work teams and
strengths-based approaches

Embraces Ngati Ruanuitanga as a

organisational point of difference.

Budget control, financial approval to

approved levels

Contract compliance and monitoring
Risk identification and Health and Safety
Internal auditing and management of

external auditing

Sourcing new business opportunities
Maintaining internal and external

relationships

Governance reporting


The successful applicant will be an astute leader of people, with demonstrated proven ability and to; influence and collaborate across health and education programmes. They will also be proactive and innovative and have demonstrated in previous roles sound business and financial acumen.

To be successful in this role you will have:

A professional management related

qualification and proven experience in;
working in the health and education sector,
a background of working successfully in
preparing and developing funding
applications within the health and education
sectors and leadership of a diverse
multifaceted workforce. In addition, it is
preferred that the candidate has had
previous proven experience of working in a
Maori organisation to a high level.

Experience in building a positive culture in

an organisation

Developing cohesive self-directed work

teams with strong team morale and spirit.

A proven record of high self-motivation,

initiative, decision making, sound
judgement, and ability to work under
pressure.
